Notable Iranian film 'Lunch Time' has won an award at the Sarasota Film Festival in the US.
Directed by Alireza Ghasemi, the film won the Shorts Narrative award at the 20th edition of the event.
The 15-minute ‘Lunch Time’ is about a high school girl who has come to the hospital to identify the body of her mother. The people in charge at the hospital would not let her into the morgue because of her young age.
Among the cast members of ‘Lunch Time’ are Khorshid Cheraqipour, Roya Bakhtiari, Amir Taqdiri, Peyman Naemi, Siavash Cheraqipour, Bahram Omrani, Pouria Akhavan, Mohammad Haddadi, Alireza Qasemi, Mehdi Yeganeh, and Arash Qasemi.
The Sarasota Film Festival is a film festival located in Sarasota, Florida and is held in April.
Its mission is to celebrate the art of filmmaking and the contribution of filmmakers by hosting an international film festival and developing year-long programs for the economic, educational, and cultural benefit of the community.
The short has already bagged a number of prizes at various film festivals across the globe.
